  1. I assume you're using this sentence past tense?  Possibly recounting a recent trip?

In that case, "had made" actually is grammatically correct, though redundant without anything to clarify the sentence.  You just need to add a little context.

You can do this by adding a descriptive word or phrase to the sentence.

For instance, if the trip was a long one, your sentence could read:

"I had finally made it to Louisiana."  Or

"After ten long hours, I made it to Louisiana." Or

"I realized with relief that I'd made it to Louisiana."

That makes it a little clearer to the reader why you worded it that way.

Now if you are using that sentence in the present tense, or the rest of the story around it makes it sounds awkward, you can easily substitute a number of words.

"I had arrived in Louisiana." (With or without the "had")

"I had come to Louisiana."  (If you are still there)

    That sort of thing.

Trust your instincts.  If the sentence just doesn't fit in to what you're writing, change it until it does.

  2. "I got to Louisiana"

"I had made it as far as Louisiana"

    "I'm in Louisiana"

    "I've arrived in Louisiana"

    "I'm passing through Louisiana"

  3. arrieved?

  4. no need to put   "had"  in the sentence.

  5. Take out the had. The made already makes it past tense.

  6. i made it to louisiana.
