I was just thinking of a word that I had previously used just last year. It is another way to say the act of forced labor without pay, or people that are forced to work without pay. I know it was not slavery or slaves, but it had something to do with the plebeians and peasants of Rome serving the patricians and other members of the higher classes.

  1. Indentured Servitude - This was how the English would send Irish,Welsh, and Scots to America  to work and pay off their family's debts back home.

  2. Wife

  3. indentured servants (?).

  4. Indentured servantry?  That's the only kind of stuff I can come with that involves forced labor and no pay.  It was no better (maybe a little since there was a chance of actually getting freed) than slavery...

  5. Well, there were indentured servants but that was slightly different. Use an online thesaurus. You should find your word.

  6. serfdom
