  1. Anthropology is the study of mankind.  Anthropologist use the comparative method.  Each instance is compared with the whole of humanity.  For example marraige customs in Mexico are compared and contrasted with marraige customs in the rest of the world.  Anthropologists also bring an evolutionary perspective.  How has this aspect of mankind changed over time?  What caused the changes?
