What is/are the best way(s) to study for the LSAT?

Besides taking mach tests and reading books on the subject, what other ways would you recommend to study for the LSAT

  1. Besides reading books and taking tests (both of which can really help), there are probably only two effective ways to study:

    1. Take a prep class

    The main benefits of a class are that:

    A. They lay out the strategies for you so you don't have to figure them out on your own. You also have a source to go to when you have questions or need help.

    B. They provide plenty of study material, and that material is directed in a particular way.

    C. They structure your preparation in a way that self-studying cannot.

    D. You meet other people in the same position you are in, and it helps to have friends who can motivate you to study.

    I took PowerScore and am a big fan of their courses.

    2. Get private tutoring

    Tutoring is useful because it focuses just on you, but it can be very expensive. I feel like tutoring is a great option if you have only a few problem areas or if you are very close to the target score you want/need.

    I'd take a few tests before choosing either of the above routes, because some of the books out there are pretty good. It all depends on where you are scoring and where you want to be.
