what are the dangers and hazards of argon gas? is that flammable?

what is argon gas used for? is that for welding ore cutting? what precautions must be followed when it is in cyllinder ?will it explode?

  2. I'm not sure about it's uses, but it's very inactive because it's a noble gas. Not flammable, no precautions necessary, and nothing explosive about it.

  3. Argon is a noble gas.  It doesn't readily react chemically with anything.  So it is not flammable. It is heavier than air.  The dangers come from 1)asphyxiation(suffocation) if you displace the air you're breathing. 2) High pressure - all high pressure gas cylinders inherently store a lot of potential energy.  If you overpressurize the fittings, tubing, etc that you are attached to, they will come apart - perhaps abruptly.  Use a regulator.

    Argon's inertness is its best property.  It is used to prevent oxygen sensitive materials from reacting - including the weld bead in TIG welding.

    Argon also has the opposite effect as helium on your voice.  Because it is so dense - it makes your voice lower.  Don't forget to breath.
