What is audio dyslexia?

So a friend of mine said she was diagnosed with "audio dyslexia" which...doesnt really make sense to me? What does that mean? Are there different branches of dyslexia?

  1. Auditory Dyslexia- Auditory dyslexics cannot link the auditory equivalent of a word to the visual component

    or

    she may have just been trying to explain her learning disability in more understandable terms-

    It could be Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD)

    in which sounds (instead or reading) get mixed up

    she could've meant that CAPD is like having an audio version of dyslexia-

I was diagnosed with auditory-visual dyslexia 30 yrs ago.  My sister is visual-spatial (she is scary driving a car).  I have a lot of trouble visualizing spoken instructions, I need to see something in order to figure it out.  When someone gives me directions somewhere I always need them to draw me a map.

    My son has central auditory processing disorder (totally different)  He has difficulty separating foreground from background noise.  When concentrating he is not able to focus on the preferred thing so he appears very ADD.  All noises are the same degree of loudness and he can't tune the others out.
