I am going on a flight by myself as a minor and I want to know what I can bring in my bag that I will take on the plane (food). I asked a question before and I got back an answer that I can not bring in food from home. I have to purchase it there. I want to know what kind of food is there for me to purchase.

  1. Whoever said you can't bring food was wrong.

  2. You are allowed to bring food from home as long as its not liquid. The food for purchase depends on the airport and the terminal. I have been to a few airports where there wasn't much but a snack stand to buy items, or the nearest place was at least a 20 min walk away. Also food at the airport is very expensive, so it is more convenient and affordable to bring your own food. Another thing I do is carry an empty water bottle and crystal light packets, and fill it up at a water fountain past security. Just another way to save money.

  3. You can bring foods from home but no liquids over 3oz. Go to www.tsa.gov and you will find a seemingly endless list of what you can and can't take through security.

  4. After you go through security you can buy bottles of pop, juice and water. As far as food, I have seen sandwiches, chips, crackers, muffins, candy.

I have however brought crackers and pop tarts from home and had no problems.
