What is avalon,and does it mean???

i know avalon is a castle but i want to know more about it.....

It might be the name of a legendary isle, but 'Avalon' is also the name of a perfume to be launched shortly before Christmas this year.

This perfume has been developed by one of Rory Emerald's companies, viz. Artificial Voracious Aromas of London,  from which the acronym A V A LON has been chosen.

It's a legendary island...you've probably heard about it regarding the legend of King Arthur.  When Arthur is dying, he is put on a boat with three queens and they set sail to Avalon, and Arthur promises to return when his people are in great need...or something along those lines.
