there's a lot of social housing (some big housing estates) occupied by people on low incomes ... and traditionally there's quite a high afro-carribean population ... there's quite a lot of drugs around and some gangs (not ghetto type gangs I don't think, just kids protecting their turf) ... about 20 years back there were some bad riots in Tottenham which has left a scar on people's memories, a policeman was killed there ... since those days there's been a lot of money and effort put into the area to improve social relations, clean up the place and make it a better place to live ... I think it's a lot better now than in the old days, but it still wouldn't be my idea of a nice place to live
