I was shocked when I read 70 yr old women was raped It's horrible to feel and why people do such things?

It could be someone wanting to feel dominant. It's not always an outcast, who sits home alone every night. It could be the most "perfect" person who just has a desire to control which leads them to do horrible things. This is part of why I'm studying Psych. I want to know why these impulses are uncontrollable.

The sadistic need to hurt, torment, and get away with it, to further hurt and torment others without ever being punished.  The men capable of doing such things, are men who have the power to do it, and nary a man who lacks self confidence or feels inadequate, will ever get there, so feminist propaganda is wrong.  Dead wrong; the majority of rapists, are men in a position where they will not be punished for inflicting pain and suffering on others.

Such people I think should be taken off the human gene pool, they should be euthenized and not allowed to breed.  Perhaps maybe God takes care of that already, and why some of them are only children.

Susan Brownmiller did extensive research on that very subject, and her conclusion was, that a rapist is a s****t.  Her work actually goes much against commonly held beliefs by upper middle class brats.

"Romance novel" type rape in which the woman has a spine shatteringly powerful o****m, DOES exist.  However, in such cases the couple is already in love, dealing with intense overpowering emotions, first, and second, this, is totally different from the sadistic compulsions of a sadistic sociopath who likes to stick his organ in people just because they don't like it, and he gets a kick out of it, be they male or female.  Also very few men have s*x drives that powerful; in a woman's fantasy his passion is like a "raging inferno" and his organ is "angry, and poised to explode" from how hard it is.  Women like to feel like they are that attractive, what can I say; even pretty women whom you wouldn't think would have appearance issues have fantasies like those.  However the reality is, 90% of rapists, where a crime DID occur, and it wasn't a false accusation for the social convenience of a brat avoiding social embarassment, are all sadistic sociopaths who in my opinion should be taken out and shot.

Japanese soldiers also raped Japanese women you know, and when the war was over, the great majority of them did serve prison time, some were executed.  Don't think for a minute, their own people were not victims of the military dictatorship.  Japanese friend of mine whose grandfather was there and saw it all told me.

Well since this behavior is so abnormal it is hard to know.

I Believe its about sexual urges, about power and about releasing angst from sexual abuse from when they are younger.

A lot of people get confused about their sexuality i believe and are embarrassed about it. They turn it into their own thing, not something they would share with other people. It can become like a conquest to some people.

This isn't always the explanation for everyone.

Everyone is different wether it be due to nature or nurture.

Rape in wartime is very different to rape in peacetime, because the psychological state is different. Much as those American soilders would probably have tortured/abused prisoners in peacetime, and British soilders have their fair share of warcrimes. No more acceptable, just different causes. Otherwise: many male rapists show a uncommonly high hostility towards women, often arising (or maybe justified by) previous bad treatment; betrayal, deception, demeaning, parental violence or sexual abuse in childhood are amongst the most frequent. The urge to rape appears to be hightened by feelings such as lonliness, anger, humiliation, unadequacy, and rejection. SOME have difficulty reading cues (i.e. friendliness/seduction), often lack social skills and lack empathy for the victem. To themselves (and often to others when caught) they distort and justify their behavoirs (i.e. misattribute blame, minimize sexual intent, debase victem, minimze consquences, deflect censure, justify cause - Maletzky 2002)

So there's a variety of causes... just because we can explain a behavour does not mean we condone it or can justify it. However, different causes necessitate different cures.

There is less research on female rapists. Although rapists are more commonly male, it is in no way uniquely male, and it is hard to get a grasp on figures when many victems of female rapists still refuse to come forward. This is an area that need much more research.
