  1. For some of the cheapest Asian airfares try http://asianairfares.com

also try to book on the weekdays instead weekends...it is cheaper

  2. I've done that route four times now:

    - Gulf Air via Bahrain

Food was very good. Seat back TVs with a choice of a dozen channels running on 3-hour cycles. 6 hour delay both there and back, and one cancelled plane.

    - Oasis via Hong Kong and Cebu Pacific (twice)

Now no longer possible as Oasis went under a few months ago. Cheapest way. Seat back TVs.

    - Singapore Airlines via Singapore

If you can get a decent price then this is the way to go. Good food, excellent IFE with seat back TVs showing on-demand movies. You can also fly to Cebu and Davao if you don't need to go to Manila.

    Other possibilities:

    - Emirates - generally a good reputation, has seat back TVs and generally the best leg room of all the choices here.

    - Etihad - seems to have a good reputation but bear in mind there aren't so many flights so if one is cancelled or delayed you might be stuck for hours if not days.

There are numerous other possibilities which involve changing at Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, or Hong Kong - or even India or other places.
