  1. removable lens- for the lower cost look at the Olympus or Cannons.  Although I would recommend Nikon, you will start to add up in price.

  2. Get a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) Camera. Maybe I would prob. get a Canon Xsi body and get the lens separately.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos... check this bad boy out. Get your self a big memory card too, this thing gobbles up storage space. It also has a live view, that some people like, 12MP, fast shutter. This is a camera you can grow with.

If you want some thing smaller or less daunting get a Panasonic TZ5. Lieca lens, 10x Zoom, anti-shake, Burst mode,9MP, easy to use and small enough to fit in your pocket.

  3. Go with a Powershot for under 150$.

  4. Fugi are the best.

  5. If you are looking at a camera with removable lenses, you are looking at an SLR camera (single lens reflex). There are many that are considered entry level, though most any around these days you will be paying a fair bit for.

For ease of use, and low-ish cost, I recommend the following cameras:

    From Nikon:

    D40: 6 megapixels, includes a 18-55mm lens

D60: 10 megapixels, includes a 18-55mm VR (vibration reduction) lens

    From Canon:

    XTi (400D): 10 megapixels, includes a 18-55mm lens

XSi (450D): 12 megapixels, Live View function, includes a 18-55mm I.S (image stabilization) lens

    From Pentax:

    K200D: 10 megapixels, built-in anti-shake in the camera body, includes a 18-55mm lens

    From Sony:

alpha-200: 10 megapixels, built-in "super steady shot" in the camera body, includes a 18-70mm lens

alpha-300: 10 megapixels, built-in "super steady shot" in the camera body, Live-View function, includes a 18-70mm lens

I know I said that each of these includes a lens, but for each of these cameras you can buy the camera body on its own and get a much more powerful zoom lens as opposed to the smaller kit lens.

    Hope this helps some :-)

  6. well i was looking at a nikon p80. it has 18x zoom and 10 megapixels.

i think nikons are great, and it's not that expensive.

    good luck. :)

  7. You should UNDOUBTLY go fo: Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Camera. It is the Hottest (or Coolest) Camera of 2008(and ever).
