Recently I went to the Shoreham Air show, I took my video camera i got quite a lot of good video of the air crafts but also got lots of shaky video as well, but I got the bug for going to these fairs now. and was wondering for the next one what would be best for getting a better result from my video camera, is it best to use a Mono pod or a full tripod?

  1. a mono pod  is best for ease of maneuverability

  2. a monopod will stop shaking while letting you move the camera around at speed.

  3. deff a mono pod....

  4. use a full one

  5. It doesn't really matter because they both stand still.

However i would probably recommend the Tripod because its just easier, it pivots 180 degrees left to right and 90 degrees both ways up and down. And will just be more supportive whatever the angle

  6. Full tripod with a pan head and good height adjustment so you can get the camera / viewfinder up to eye level.

  7. The best air show is Farnborough then there is Bournemouth, Yeovilton and Duxford. I use a Telescopic mono pod and get good results.

  8. full tripod and a camera with good image stabilisation

  9. I'd recommend full tripod for that stability.

I went to the bi-annual world famous Farnborough airshow in England, UK and the A380 and Vulcan take off so frequently and fast, its important to whip the camera round quickly but without getting a shaky result. Especially wen the red arrows are flying simultaenously.

    Good luck!
