  1. Kawasaki makes a 85cc machine that would be great for him.I personally like bikes because you can go more places and quads can injure you alot more in a flip over.

  2. well i say for a 11 year old get a CR 80cc or a KTM 125cc,also get a sports clutch, gives him more experience on the real thing really i rode my first CR 80cc when i was 9,broke a couple of bones but grew into it eventually..its all in the sport...

  3. at that age i'd highly suggest bike rather then quad.... if not for saftey's sake alone.....

  4. I would say dirtbike. Quads are big beffy and flipable, dirtbikes are lighter and more trail accessible, and they are more fun i think.

  5. dirtbike - i started on a 2004 honda 70 at age 7/ and was 3/4s that weight. BEST OPTION AVALIABLE. no clutch just 3 gears- and its really easy. if hes starting on a clutch move him up to a 100. which dosnt have enough power to lose control. but definately dirtbike.

i reccomend the automatic just because its easier to learn the clutch on a quad than a bike on the trails.

  6. go with a dirtbike i say there more safe because if u crash on a quad and it lands on u or tips much more damage and i think dirtbikes are funner and free and begginers should start with a dirtbike

  7. a dir bike for sure. A lot more fun, a quad bike would suit an adult who has the expirience to use it what its built for.

It depends on whether he likes 4 stroke or 2 stroke.

    I would suggest a 80cc for the 2 stroke,hond cr80,yama yz80,suzuki rm80,kawa kx80

for the 4 stroke i would say a 125. The yamaha ttr 125 is a great bike check it out

if you do get an 80c 2 stroke he should still be careful the power could be a bit much. Same with the ttr. He is 11 after all.

smaller 4 strokes are the honda xr 80 and ,2 stroke the kx 65

    cheers

  8. Definitely a dirt bike. Quads tend to high side in corners which causes the quad to end up on top of the rider causing serious injury. Motorcycles usually low side which generally causes the bike to slide away from the rider and also produces far less impact when hitting the ground. Quads are also more likely to have a high speed crash compared to a bike. DO NOT get a 2 stroke of any kind for a beginning young rider. Have them sit on a Honda CRF70 and Honda CRF80. One of these shold fit them perfectly.

  9. Dirtbike, KLX 110 to be specific. it has the semi-auto clutch small size but enough power to last him for a while.

  10. My father prefers a dirt bike for safety. In some places kids even need to take safety classes to get a four-wheeler. I think it is because if a 4-wheeler flips it can cause much more damage.

  11. I learned on an xr 80 at about his age and size. He will probably feel a little less bullet proof and be more careful starting out on a bike instead of an atv too.
