What is best to use to remove felt tip pen stains from material?

I did something stupid. I marked a cutting board on one side with a felt tip pen so I could recognise which side to use for meat, and which for fruit and veg.

Of course the first time I put it in water the felt tip making run and went on my hand and tea towel. Now I have a red felt tip stain on the tea towel. What is best to use to remove it, or will it just come out in the next normal wash?
