  1. Always dress as formal and conservative as you can for an interview, even if it's non-profit.  In other words, you can never "over dress" when it comes to a job interview.  Avoid excessive jewelery, perfumes, and make up./

  2. show the respect for the job and the interviewer and go business dress.  you'll make a great impression over others who go business casual.

always dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

  3. Your dark suits are not too formal for an interview with a large non-profit. Non-verbal language, like clothing, is part of communication. You are telling the interviewer that a) yhou are serious; b) you respect the organization's mission; c) you respect the interviewer. After you're hired, there's plenty of time for fllip-flops!
