  1. soothie for sure.

  2. I like the gerber one piece ones.  They are supposed to retract more like the nipple which is good if you are breastfeeding.  Also, they are one piece so there is no risk of the nipple detaching from the base.

  3. I preferred the Nuk brand, but only the ones with the silicone nipples (not the rubber ones).  The rubber tends to get kind of funky and discolored over time, and it seems to take on smells (and probably tastes) that don't come out.  The silicone ones don't.

  4. ultimately it will come down to what your baby prefers, but my baby has used the Gerber Nukk ones and the Avent ones. I like the avent ones since they come with little plastic covers that clip over the soother which makes them nice and portable for you.

  5. Personally we went with the Gerber NUK brand.  I nursed my son, and this brand does not interfere with the baby learning how to breast feed.  Also it is better than many brands for the baby's tooth development.  You can buy the latex or the silicon version, my son prefered the silicon, and you can buy them in all sorts of colors and in one or two packs.  Price range for a two pack of silicon is around $4.00 ($4.19 at babiesrus.com).  Gerber NUK also makes a brand of baby bottles if you wanted to be consistant too, but I didn't go that far.  Good Luck.

  6. My son would ONLY take the "Soothie" pacifier the first 7 months.  Then after that started to prefer the "NUK".  Both around $3 each I believe.  Your baby will most likely prefer one over another, you'll just have to experiement with a few and see which your baby prefers!

  7. It all depends what nipple style you like. I like mam but dont buy anything really cheap Im always worried they will come apart.

  8. My family had a baby in foster care and he liked the Avent, we also used the bottles.  It really depends on the baby as others said though.

  9. The MAM ('Soft' and 'Tiny') are great.  They are BPA free, a great shape and you can get them in lovely colours.

I highly recommend them.  I think they are about £2.99 for 2 dummies.

  10. Whatever your baby likes.  they make a bunch.

  11. All of my friends use Nuks. They are helpful in developing the jaw bone and dental alignment. Orthodontic approved. You can buy them at a Wal Mart for a few dollars. It will also depend on what your baby wants to use too!

    Good Luck

  12. Depends on your baby and what they decide they like.  I received a bunch of different kinds of pacifiers for baby showers and stuff, but he only took to the Gerber NUK kind.

  13. It seems to be more of the baby's choice than mommy's on this one, each baby seems to like a certain style. My first child I bought the regualr Nuk brand and she would use them we tried MAM, no luck there either, so we tried Soothie and that is what she chose. My second child didn't like Soothies so we tried a similar one called Gumdrop made by Hawaii Medical (I havent found them in stores, only online, she received a couple while in the NICU after a surgery) and she loved them. So buy a bunch of different styles and let baby choose.

Soothie can be purchased at Wal-Mart for ~$4.00.

Gumdrop pacifiers I buy online at hawaiimedical.com for $2.00.

  14. I really don't think there is a best brand.  My son had a lot of trouble sucking, so I went through a lot of different ones until I found one that would stay in his mouth.  I think it just depends on what your baby prefers.

  15. Soothies are cheap and made of silicone and you can also buy bottles with the same type of nipple as the paci's.

  16. Soothie sels a one piece silicone pacifier, and ive found those are the best ones to have...theyre similar tothe ones given ut in the hospital, and its recommended that people use the solid one pice pacifiers, because there is no chance of any part of it breaking off and being swallowed, which is an issue that happenssometimes with the normal kind....theyre pretty cheap...4 bucks for two of them at walmart, at least up here anyway haha
