  1. Here is the easy way. Right click on the photo click "save picture as" check the box at the bottom is jepg/jpg and "save" and the file is automatically saved as jepeg/jpg.

  2. Download the freeware picture editor GIMP (works very similarly to Photoshop), open your pic in it, then save it as a .jpg or .jpeg.

  3. Use Paint:

Left click on the image/pic u like> right click n select Copy.

From the Start button> All Programs> Accessories> Open up Paint> go to the drop down menu and select Paste.

Then you go to File drop down and select Save As (not just Save). This will allow you to save as .jpeg.

  4. I use my Paint program I got with my Windows Xp.. any version of Windows has the Paint program.. just click you start menu and the All Programs and it should be in that list..

click it to get it to start Paint..

Now Step by Step follow me ..

    1. on the Paint toolbar choose the option File

2 from the drop down menu choose  the option.. Open..

    3. a popup will appear that is already in your My Pictures file in your My Documents on you computer

    4. Look in the My Pictures file or where ever you image is at that you want to change file formats on click it..

    5. the name of the file will appear in the firest slot at the bottom of the popup.. click open to open the picture into the Paint edit screen you have on the screen

    6. Go back to the toolbar and choose File again

7 from the dropdown menu choose SAVE AS.. and the popup comes back up with the file name already in the first slot on the bottom of the popup..

    8. on the second slot there at the bottom click the gray thing at the end of the slot to get the  drop down menu to drop.. and choose jpeg as the type file you want to save image as..

    9. It will save your image in the same file as the original but in the jpeg file format..

note.. if your image is a .GIF file or a .PNG file.. that is animated.. it will not be animated in the new file type Jpeg.. and if it had sparkles as part of the animation those may be distorted to a yucky gray which usually ruins the image..

hope it all works for you friend..

p.s.  you sound like your kind of new to computer land.. so was I not long ago.. that Gimp photo editor that is mentioned up there in another answer.. is almost impossible to figure out.. it comes with no directions at all.. unless you pay for them.. yep program is free to download.. to be able to use it.. gotta pay.. evil people huh? hehehe
