What is better, Go to Greatbritain with an exchange company or by myself?!?

The point is that i`m from Mexico, but i want to learn more english in your country, but a company of exchanges and so on... ask me more than $20,000.00 dollars (more or less in Mexican pesos) .. i think is too much, but i dont know maybe would be better if i go by myself.. and i look for an apartment there... and find a english-school...?!? but how... i dont know anyone .. and i would like to know how would be more expensive.. or the advantages and disvantages..i want to stay there for 6 months or 1 year.. no less.... please! i will really appreciatte it.

dont use the exchange company.  they will cheat u of $20,000.

pl check the websites for various home stays.  u can get cheap stays in the villages and learn english for free.  work in a farm and they can only speak english.   u must stay outside london - go to countryside.  and pple will be more welcoming.  try south which has better climate.  look at map and start goggling the names and u will find something...
