  1. For 1 thing dont ask americans...they probably have never played rugby and dont understand it because its too complex for them..they need the constant breaks, helments, pads, blocking just to get started.....I bet theat if they have played rugby they would understand.....The world is against the US...none cares about AF because its striclty an american/canadiand sport...they dont have a world cup and no other country really cares to play the game. I enjoy watching both but if I had to pick ont to play it would be RUGBY...a true teamsport in which everyone is essential and can share the ball...where respect camraderie and humbleness are #1 priority. Where it doesnt matter who is infront of you, its who is behind you that matters..Not to mention you can play rugby till you are really old......cant do that with football. American football wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for rugby. (and thank you soccer/football people for giving us rugby) I played 3 years of Varsity football and 4 years of rugby...and iam american.obviosly.

  2. Rugby by far the atmosphere the respect of fans and players alike (on the whole) is so much better the game has more of depth and much more raw.  and lets not forget you can drink a beer while your watching it in the stadium.:-)

  3. Football (soccer) all the way.

  4. Football totally

  5. rugby by far

  6. ruggers

  7. No contest - rugby.

  8. definatly rugby

  9. Well, we've got football/soccer, rugby leauge, rugby union and aussie rules, oh... and touch football.  All football, all fun, entertaining, all different.

  10. Rugby!!!! It's more manly!

  11. How is American football a copy, it's completely different!

Anyway, there is way much more going on mentally in American football, not to mention physically.  That's my pick.

  12. if we're talking abou american football beats rugby, if we're talking soccer and rugby rugby wins, but overall american football is the best

  13. rugby goo england!

  14. there not contest football is far better especially wen u hav teams like liverpool :D

  15. Real football, not the fake American copy.

  16. their both good in their own ways, personally im a born rugby fan so thumbs up for rugga!, i reckon it also depends what country your from because each country has a favourite, most countries in europe like Football, and some like newzealand and southafrica are rugby nations

  17. Of course it's rugby! When you play football, you kick it, throw it away and you shoot it....Rugby is different! When you possess the ball, you keep it, you hold it with your arm and you won't let go of it.

  18. Rugby, any day of the week, and twice on weekends!!!!

  19. Rugby all the way, Because i was brought up with rugby, its the best sport anyone could watch/play

  20. Whichever one we can win the World Cup in.

  21. That's a loaded question!!  My son, 11, plays both.  He loves both!  There are so many similarities (not necessarily in the RULES, but in...) like the dedication, the teamwork, the exciting, competitive atmosphere.  We love the fastpaced game of rugby, but the methodical chess match of football.  My son's absolute favorite thing about rugby is that he gets to carry the ball!!  Because of his size he is NEVER allowed to have the ball in football unless he recovers a fumble.  We're in Texas, so rugby isn't as popular as football (nothing is as popular as football in Texas!!!!) - we're still adjusting to not knowing whether or not we'll have a match when Saturday morning rolls around.  It's growing and that's exciting!

  22. re: nate K how in the wide wide world of sports is american gayball more of a mental challenge than playing rugby???? they think running and catching a ball at the same time is a freakish ability  HAHAHAHAHAHA
