Question:

What is better, one 15 inch kicker or two 12 inch kickers?

I'm looking at systems, and I'm thinking about getting a 15" kicker L7 with an infinity 1211A 1300 watt amp ( it pushes 854 watts rms @ 4 ohms). I'm only looking to spend around 500 bucks. The sub would have to be in a sealed box because my trunk isn't to big. Anyone have a similar set up? how hard does it hit? Would i be better off getting two 12 inch subs (not kickers) that would be out of my budget.

any suggestions? what would be the hardest hitting set up for around 500 bucks that still has pretty good sound quality?

Thanks!

  1. l7 are realy good at what they do there loud but is sq is pretty bad i would say go with two 12" kicker comps if you want loud and decent sq , you could also go for one JL w6 or two w3's for around the same amount and get much better sq with less bass

  2. first of all common sense, if you have to ask THIS question, you shouldnt need either/or.

to answer your question, the two 12 inch subs that are out of your budget would be better depending on brand etc...

  3. no, 1 new 15" L7 is around $450. and square subs aren't made for sound quality, just to move more air for more bass.

  4. how about one 12in in a properly ported box? that would sound much better imo

  5. do 2 12s they will provide a more puchy sound than 1 15 sealed. or like the previous poster said 1 12 ported.
