  1. Army. Better benefits and you get to pick what Occupation you want.

Air force picks what your going to be...only depends on what you score on test

  2. The air force. It is many times less dangerous. It is higher paying. It usually includes better acomodations than other military branches. You have to do exceptionally well in school to be admitted. NASA hires a lot of people from the air force.

  3. Air Force all the way!!!And it's true what they said. They don't let you pick your job when you score low and don't have any college credits. I myself have a B.A. and while I am trying for Officer, if I enlist, they would guarantee me the job I want. The Air Force is definitely the way to go. Better quality of life, better food, better accommodations, better preparation for the civilian world, better jobs after wards, it's all around a more complete branch. The only thing is, that it's the hardest to get into.

Ross, you do know that the Air Force does get deployed and many are in Iraq right now getting "dirty". There are many Airmen that have been killed in the war. It's not the same number as Marines and Soldiers, but we are a smaller branch. It just upsets me this whole perspective that in the Air Force, all people do is sit and play in the computer. Where would we be now if there were no fighter, predator or bomber pilots to rescue and save the Army and Marines?

  4. Air Force. It is also harder to get into. And I picked the job i wanted. Only people who score low go on open general.

  5. The only reason the Air Force is harder to get into is because they have less jobs. They are dwonsizing and need less recruits, the Army is much larger and is groing.  The scores to enter into a specific career field will be the same even if you are Army, Marines Air Force or Navy.  The Air Force is down sizing so they will approve less waivers and have higher minimum scores.  If you want to go to a down sizing branch who will dictate what your job is, (not always but a good %), have slower promotion less bonus all in because you don't want to get dirty Air Force is a good choice.

What you should do is check out all branches and come back here with more specific questions.

  6. dude im in the air force. im in japan rite now. definetly AF. and trust me this is not a biased answer because i hate it and im getting out soon. well i just hate the whole military thing in general.

but theres a big diff in army and af. the army gets promoted alot faster. but they get treated like ****!!! and its not the case in the AF. we always have better accomadations then the army. and we have bases in a lot better locations then them. h**l if you join either one. you will see that all the soldiers will hang out or around the airbase. and not there post. and another advantage is the deployments. the AF just went to 6 month deployments last year. it was previoulsy 4 months. the army deployments are 12-15 months. maybe even more in some cases. and in the AF unless your job is like spec ops or cops. you wont be fighting and shooting and all that stuff. but be warned the AF is trying to change that. cuz we r the branch thats laughed at and made fun of cuz we have it so good usually. so if u gotta go i would say go AF. army gets the sh&tty deall all the time, marines are too hard core, and all ways get in trouble and every has to pay for one persons mistakes, and the navy...... i have no idea what they do lol but hey i say just go to college and skip the mil in general. but do u.

also what the one guy said is BS. you can pick you career field. but some times the recruiters are very dishonest. they will try to put in a career field thats  low manned or  try to put you in a career filed thats having you leaving for basic training real soon as to get you out of his hair. but stand your ground and pick your d**n job that you want. research it at home.  its your career not theres. then come back and pick. trust me this way you wont get stuck with a S****y job

  7. The Air Force is much better. You get to live in nice accommodations, get good food and treated better. You do get your career field in the Air Force. If you are looking at what will help you better when you get the Air Force is your choice, they have better schools and get you ready for the outside world. I was in the air Force and it has helped me in the civilian world get a good paying job.
