What is better...Acer or Apple?

Question

I am moving to new zealand i bought an apple computer. All im going to be using it for is email and the enternet. My question is if i really need to spend all that money on an apple or if i should just get a cheaper computer like an acer?

if all your using it for is email and internet then the acer is probably a better bet for the price.  the apple is a great computer and there is none that rival it but for the price of one apple you could probably buy 3-4 acers.  just make sure that you get a good virus and spyware if you get the acer

ive found that contrary to common belief, apple products are very good value for money, a macbook is also cheaper than similar performing products from other brands (sony, toshiba), the same can be said for the imac and macbook pro, i switched to apple (macbook and imac) earlier this year and i have never looked back, never had a problem at all. in my opinion you would be better off with an apple computer just because you will have alot more hassle free internet use and emailing, also the pre-installed software makes these tasks alot easier

if you like fixing windows all the time, go cheap. Acer builds good machines.

If you hate all the windows drama...go 

I have not had to fix anything in 3 years now.  just keeps working.

The Acer costs less because it is a stripped down model and it runs Windows.

If you like fiddling with settings, updating drivers, and the eternal war on virus and worse, go with the Acer.  If you want to do the things you got the computer to do (rather than the things you gotta do to get the computer to get going), stick with the Apple.

Hi Dear,

Please buy a cheap ACER machine for EMAIL and INTERNET BROWSING STUFF.

I am sure ACER will have network card for ethernet connection and if it is a laptop make sure it has wireless CARD and or ETHERNET PCMCIA card.

If you are just using for email and internet then you really dont need to buy Apple. Apple is not even that good anymore. I cant understand why they are so expensive, just because they are apple. get Intel core 2 Duo processor and 2 gigs ram .. choose Acer. you are all good to go.

Acer uses windows and Apple uses mac. It depends on what you want to do but in my opinion, Apple is better because its (sorta, kinda) cheap and it a great software. Also, it looks SO nice. :)

My sister has an Acer and its keyboard already has problems...she finds it hard sometimes to press certain characters. It's gotten rather slow as well, but I guess it is a cheap laptop. If you know you can afford it, try the Apple.

If you're just going to be using it for email and web surfing, then it doesn't really matter what kind of computer you get. An Acer should be able to do that just as well as a Mac.

Of course, there are some benefits to having a Mac.  Such as the operating system, and the customer support.
