  1. plantations shutters... def

  2. well are you talking about practicality wise or looks wise? i personally think plantation shutters will look good in any window-they are timeless pieces (they havnt gone out of style for the amount of time they've been around). Drapes look ok too, but if you pick out the wrong ones they can make your house look like a frumpy mess. So id say go with the shutters.

  3. Whichever "effect" you intend to use depends upon which type of window cover to use.

A vertical drape (in lighter color) helps to add HEIGHT to a room.

A horizontal shutter-system helps to add DEPTH to the window.

ALSO, you should consider the type of floor covering in the room; is it carpeted (and which color) or tile or wood?

And what wall colors are prominent on that wall and what sort of "added elements" (pictures and types of frames) are on that wall?

  4. My sister has plantation shutters with a scarf over top.  I think it looks really simple, yet classy.  Plantation shutters are a little dressier than just venetian blinds.  Why cover them up?

  5. My vote is both, blocks out the most light.

  6. Interior Window Shutters in my mind can only be wood shutters, there is a long distance look wise between drapes and wood shutters. If your house is nice then wood shutters is the way to go.

Here is a nationwide manufacture of wood shutters.

  7. I like to use old Jimi Hendrix blankets, as well as some Rastafarian ones too.

  8. Depends on your preference. The Plantation Shutters, are the ist choice for me, they are practical easy to clean and keep up, durable and will last a long time. If you prefer the look of drapes, and price is not an object by all means the Drapes will give you a feeling of privacy, add some warmth in the winter and keep you cooler in the summer. The expense of course n the Dry Claning.
