I would say both are pretty good. I use and would recommend Firefox because I find that you can view videos and things like that a lot easier then you can on Safari.

Safari is a more elegant browser, Firefox is considered more secure than both Safari or Internet Explorer.  Firefox also comes with a lot more plug-ins that Internet Explorer or Safari and the GUI is easier to use and customize.  Firefox is the best hands down.

Firefox.

1.  In Safari you can't get rid of the bookmarks toolbar, which takes up valuable browser window space.

2.  Fonts.  I can't stand the fonts in Safari, they look blurry to me.  Its a personal preference but Safari makes me feel like I need glasses.

3.  Bookmarks on Firefox can be much more customized.  You can keep one bookmarks file on a server location and use the same bookmarks for mulitple computers.  Add a bookmark on your laptop and you can immediately access it from your desktop or other computers.  I'm big on keeping common bookmarks.

4.  The History window.  On Firefox you can open the history bar on the left side and click through links one-by-one and each page opens as you go.  Helps searching for a previoulsy visited page more easily.  On Safari you have to click back and forth which is really slow and inefficient.

5.  Themes and other customizations.  Safari can't approach the vast number of themes and other customizations.

6.  I like Safari speed in opening pages, slightly faster than Firefox but not enough to make up for the other things.

firefox is better on macs and pcs because it is more compatible with the way most websites are built.  you'll have less errors.  its also faster.
