  1. SUPER 14 BY MILES!!!

  2. super 14  northern hemisphere rugby is slow moving old ,man having tea and biscuits rugby

  3. super 14 easily

its amense the way they play its soo fast and fluentits

its soo god they can trail the new rules down there so easily

    super 14 is way better

  4. The Heineken Cup is way better then the super 14. Their si more action and hello its sponsered by Heineken............ can you say free beer!!!!

  5. Tricky question... I dunno.

  6. Both are better than the Super League.

  7. Super 14

  8. It can be seen two ways. The Super 14 without question is more skilful than the Heineken Cup but the Heineken Cup is far more exciting.

  9. Overall I'd say Super 14. Heineken Cup on it's day is better but if you're looking for open rugby and lots of tries, Super 14 is the competition for you. Heineken Cup is more of a battle.

  10. Super 14.    The Heineken Cup tournment has so many Kiwi's, Aussies and Sth Africans playing it is just an extension of rugby these countries play.    And people wonder why England have to send B teams to tour in the Sthern Hem.

  11. Heineken cup will be soon. Our money is attracting all the top southern hemisphere talent. Even the Guiness premierships relegation battlers Newcastle managed to attract the best tighthead in the world Carl Hayman.

    Says a lot doesn't it?

  12. the super 14 is looser and less structures than the heiniken so this leads to broken play and more spectacular tries and runs so the super 14 is better for flashy play.

  13. I find the games in the Heinekin cup more exciting, as Super 14 can get a bit like rugby league due to the big defences. Saying that, there are a lot of poor teams in the Heinekin cup and even the top ones like Toulouse, Leicester and Munster would struggle in the Super 14.

Better games in Europe, better teams in the Southern Hemisphere.

  14. Having just watched an absolute beauty of a game btwn the BLUES and the HURRICANES tonight, and the Crusaders vs the Reds last week, and having watched a few Heineken Cup games, I go with the Super 14 action aplenty!

  15. the Hieneken Cup wouldnt even make a team good enough to play in New Zealand N.P.C competition. The Hieneken cup is full of past the date AllBlack players that wouldnt even make a super 14 team.

Never compare the two competitons cause only one has more grunt, hardest defense and explosive try scorers its called the Super 14,if you entered a team from the northern hemisphere in the toughest comp in the world which is the super 14,they would get cricket scores posted against them and it would be a joke they would get ousted after one season

  16. Heineken Cup always looks faster to me and yet they say Northern Hemisphere rugby is all about the forwards at the same time the Southern hemisphere guys look stockier and are faster so I've heard..

Super rugby is definatley a very slick and stylish product made for television where H'Cup looks very traditional and provincial in that respect.

I would of backed any past and present  Crusaders side to beat  any H'Cup finalists though. The Saders are the Man Utd of Super rugby. Though saying that they would of earned their wins against  the French or English sides.

Your question is really subjective so for me (Im Aussie) I'd have to say I prefer Super 14 although I do try to catch the H'Cup games yet they just don't interest me as much.

  17. Living in NZ, I watch more of the Super 14, but I have watched the Heineken Cup games a few times....

I would say the Super 14 but that's because I prefer the southern hemisphere style of rugby...the new rules make the game go at a faster pace....which is cool

However, I'm finding the Super 14 a bit boring right now...as it looks like the Crusaders are set to win again YAWN!!! LOL

  18. The two hemipheres are playing different type of rugby. I have watched some heini games and their are as tough as it can get the weather conditions plays a big role. Super 14 is awesome and you can also look at how the refs differ from Northern - and Southern hemp. how they interpret the laws.

My opinion both of these are very tough competions!!!

  19. Heineken Cup is much closer to test match rugby structure i.e kick for the corners, wait for the opposition to make a mistake, then keep the ball close to the ruck and grind away, using the backline as a last resort. Where as in Super Rugby anything could happen at any time, teams will run the ball from their own in goal if they think its on. However it quite often results in a ball handling error when players try to pass a miracle ball, which some times becomes frustrating to watch. I say as a spectacle Super Rugby is much more exciting. but of course being a kiwi i would say that. But to determine which comp is a higher level of rugby, i say there should be a comp between the top 4 super teams and the top 4 Heineken cup teams in a round robin format. that would make for a few weeks of interesting viewing.

  20. it depends what you like. the super 14 is a game where a lot of running is used where as in the heiniken cup you will see a variety of running and kicking for territory

  21. Have to say super 14. The southern hemisphere has won the world cup way more than the northern, which suggests that the tournament their players play in, is of a higher standard.
