What is better...Tivo or Dish DVR?

i can't figure out which is better...some people say dish dvr is better and some say tivo is i dont know please help

That really depends on how technical you are.

Tivo will take a bit more knowledge to hook up and get running.

Dish DVR is more plug -n- play.

If I had to buy one for my mom - DVR.

For me, Tivo.

TiVo is better. It is so easy to install and the start up is really easy. The direction are great and detailed with big colored pictures.  All the guides are easy to read and understand. The system is great. You can hook it up to your PC and move your recorded shows and movies to your hard drive than convert them to put on an MP4 player (Zune, ipod, PSP, etc.).
