  1. Our dwarf lop rabbit turned out really vicious and our vet said that it was not uncommon for that variety to change completely when they reach sexual maturity. the vet recommended that if we were to get another to consider a mini lop as they were better for kids and better natured. Following that we got a mini lop (the smallest lop eared rabbits) and she was practically like a dog, she would follow us around, come in to the house, she would even get into the dogs bed with them, it was unreal. We were devastated when she had to be put down, she kept getting massive abcesses and they would kepp coming back when drained so us and the vet decided it would be kinder to put her to sleep (that was after spending almost £270 on operations)

We throughout the whole time had a male crested guinea pig (This was in the days of  'get a rabbit and a guinea pig to live together'- yeah right. he was like a battered husband! She used to kick him an he would slam off the side of the hutch, so we built him his own htuch) and he was really good natured. He was shy, and you had a hard time catchinig him, but once caugh, he was great and would not want to be put back down. He would eat carrot and things out of our hand, which neither rabbit ever did. He wasn't big on the whole 'speaking' thing, but i have heard of people whose guinea oigs squeaked non-stop.

Its really up to you, which appeals to you most? Go with whatever o are drawn to most, you don;t want ot get, for instance a rabbit and then a couple of months down the line think "i didn't really want this, i wanted guinea pigs". Thats another thing, some places will only sell you guinea pigs in groups of at least two.

  2. Guinea Pigs are big and not really trained often, dwarf rabbits are the opposite.

  3. Guinea Pig Rox!

The cage and food and other stuff depends on how you spend!

It would not be so ex though...

Hope you get the guinea pig.

They are lovely and friendly creatures.

  4. In my opinion, guinea pigs. Every time I hold a rabbit, I end up with scratches.

On the other hand, guinea pigs make more noise, but I like a pet that talks to me. Some people want a quiet pet.

  5. the costs are the same.. except for food..

Guinea Pigs require Vitamin C in their food, making it slightly more expensive.

Personally I prefer bunnies.. many people like GP because they "Talk"

here is a photo of our bunny who sadly died recently.
