  1. it really depends on you. Some people love palm and their OS others hate it. same with blackberries.

Blackberries are really targeted toward the business market, that's why with many carriers to have it and to use the features you have to pay extra money every month.

Palm has been down the last few years because some say that the OS (operating system) and GUI (graphical user interface) is outdated (hasn't changed for many years now).

It sounds like the main reason that you want to go with either phone is so that you can schedule and keep appointments. There is some good news - almost all "smart phones" have a calendar where you can easily put in schedules and dates palm, blackberry, windows mobile phones along with some others, can all sync up with you computer if you would like also.

I would say this because at one point i was looking for these phones for the same reason: Depends on a lot of factors

    Budget

    Carrier

    Flip phone or bar phone

OS (blackberry, palm, windows mobile, iphone, etc)

    design

just know that these days almost any phone will be able to do what you're trying to do, however a "smart phone" will do it easier, and smartphone is not just blackberry or palm.

one other thing, I have the Sprint Touch by HTC which is a windows mobile device, i love it, i even use the calendar on it often however i still wound up getting an appointment book from staples that i use everyday.... it's just easier to see it all written out, or to jot something down for the next meeting.

go to your carriers store and try the different phones out. even when you do pick out your phone know that you have atleast 14 days but most give you 30 days to try the phone out, keep the box and reciepts and if you dont like it don't be afraid to take it back and ask for a different phone.

so in summary, it all depends on you.

  2. You mean Palm Treo? Or just Palm the pocket pc not phone? Well they're much the same.  But I think Blackberry is more popular than a Palm. I think definetly should get a Blackberry.

  3. I have a palm with a palm os... As long as they keep making them with the Palm OS... I won't have another device.

  4. Blackberry the OS never crashes unlike the Palm OS (Operating System).

I work for Tech Support Rep a major wireless carrier and out of the 45 calls I take a day 28 are for Palm Issues 9 for Blackberries and 8 for Windows Mobile.

Palm charges for Technical Support and let me tell it is very poor and negative, they outsource it and is hard to find someone that does not have a very deep accent.

Palm email setup - You have to know multiple settings

Windows Mobile email setup - Same thing

    Blackberry - 1,2 & 3 you are done!!!

Palm Connects to your email provider every 15 to 30 minutes to get your email which runs out your battery.

    Windows Mobile - Same thing

Blackberry - Email are pushed in real time to your device

This is why and I'm sure most will agree with this why a Berry is great then any other device:

With a blackberry all emails get pushed to your device without the Blackberry posting a request for new email.

Like when you have mail in the Post Office your mail man delivers your mail to your house instead of you calling the post office every 15 or 30 minutes to check if you have received new mail and to request a delivery.
