What is better a digital audio cable or the stndard white and red cables??

so i decide i want to hook up my stereo to my tv becuse the tvs speakers are too weak and there are 2 audio output possibilities the red and white or the digital optical, so witch one has better so witch one has better sound quality??

If you WERE listening to the TVs speakers and now you'll listen to a home theater... you COULD have a massive improvement (if your theater is a 5.1 or better).

Yes, digital audio is the best.  red/whites are the worst.

Optical is better because 1) there is only 1 cable and 2) the signal is digital. Keep in mind though that since you are connecting it from the tv's audio output that you won't notice much, if any, improvement in sound

go with a good pr. of (rca) jacks and then hook the cables to an open input on your amp.reciever ie .   digital are you refering to toslink
