  1. EPA estimated fuel mileage for both of these cars is about equal IIRC - and back in 2002/03 I sold both new Mitsu's and Nissan's.  29 highway, something like 23 or 24 city for both.  There is certainly not enough difference between them in terms of mileage to make that a deciding factor.  The Altima gives you so much more room it is clearly the better car to have.

    PS

Both the Altima and Galant are considered mid-size cars by the way and both use in-line 4-cylinder engines, not V4's.

  2. Compromise, get a V5 medium car....lol

I don't really know, I have Dodge caravan with a small engine and am satisfied with that.  The engine is a four cylinder.  It gets good mileage, especially on the highway 28-30 mpg.  And since I got the head rebuilt it has enough power for the hills.

  3. the 4 cylinder altima and they drive nice i drove a 2003 for a month

v6 gas mileage is a lot worse

both of these cars come in a 4cyl and v6 option but go with 4 cyl for gas savers

the smaller the engine in liters the less gas it takes normaly
