  1. RNs do not always make more money.  Teacher's salaries can be very high depending on where you live and how long you have been teaching.  Also, teachers get many holidays as well as the summer off, where nurses often have to work many holidays.  However, it can also be very difficult to find a job as an elementary teacher, especially if you do not have experience with a specialty such as special education, languages, etc.

  2. Money doesn't tell the entire story because RNs generally don't have summers off.  You're comparing apples and oranges.  I know some teachers who do other jobs during their summers and make quite a bit of money.

  3. Depends on where you live, but with the hours teachers work, you really can't compare it to nursing. I am a teacher and I get paid to lay out at the beach during the summer, off every holiday, etc. Nurses work long hours on their feet and usually work holidays.

  4. An RN earns quite a bit more than a teacher.  But if your choosing you need to way out more than just salary.  What would you prefer working with children or sick people.  In nursing you will see people die and some extremely sad situations.

  5. RN, of course! The job market is wide open for RNs - you can always find a job and the starting pay is good. If you specialize (nurse anesthetist or nurse practitioner), you can make upwards of $80K.
