I'm looking to buy a wetsuit and I see two types of seam construction. What is the difference between them?

  1. Everytime I get in the water, water seaps in through my seams, which are not glued, it doesnt bother me much, a little colder I think,  but my boyfriends suit seams are glued and he prefers that. He says they last longer but I think the glue is ugly if you can see it at all. My seams are stretchy so I would think that would last longer. I tried on a couple of wetsuits with glued seams and they felt tight and weird. Proper care is important, you have to wash it with cold water after every use (I just do mine in the shower) and you have to keep it out of the sun, unless when in use. Hope this helps :)

  2. i live in Scotland where the water is freezing and you surf when it's snowing. I use the ripcurl f bomb,it is glued and blind stitched.flatlock seams are for warmer  areas.

If you are surfing in cold conditions definitely go for a suit

with sealed seams.personally i prefer the suits with sealed seams,i know they cost a bit more and leave funny marks on your skin but if you want to stay in the water for longer definitely go for one . hope this information is helpful too you.

  3. why do u give a **** what ur wetsuit looks lik if u need a wetsuit no ones guna be at teh beach no body to check u out....get a sealed much better and if it does happen to break tehrs tons of products on the market ot hav a quick fix on it. they might be more expensvebut def worht it either get teh ripcurl e3 or the pycho 1 dont even bother wit teh pycho 2 its exactly the same thing as the pycho 1 but wit a different name and muhc cheaper since its the older edition

  4. One is a dry suit and one is wetsuit.
