  1. Mustn't pressure the little guy too much,

so half a week is great!

  2. It really depends on the child and thier attachment to you.

When I took my last Psyc class we learned that Childern learn more from other kids then they do you telling them and teaching them. Sometimes this can be good and sometimes bad habbits can be learned as well.

Personally I sent my children for a whole week and I feel that they were more prepared for school when the time came. THey knew more spanish words at 4 then I knew in high school. They have always been ahead of the other children in thier class and they know how to communicate well with others.

My sister has children that are a few years older than mine and hers were at home with her all day untill Kinder. They are not as advanced. They also have issues with interacting with other children.

I say preschool all day! They get interaction and learning and you get a break.

  3. it depends on whether or not the child enjoys it. if you have to force or  bribe the child to go, i wouldn't even send him /her at such a  young age. it isn't necessary. B eing in a home environment with a couple of other kids for socialization would be better. at age 2, academics are not important - socialization is. if the child truly enjoys it, then send him/her 5 days a week.

  4. if you can manage it, work commitments etc., definitely half a week.  I'd suggest five half days ... whole days are very long for a child of this age.  And they get so very tired.

    It worked for me!

  5. Half a week is better because your child will get the benefits of preschool without the problems related to letting the preschool raise your child.

  6. why is a 2 year old in school to begin with?  Children that age should be taught at a home-like setting, not a school!  Get a babysitter if you work, or take the child to a day care, not a school.

  7. i would say half a week

  8. id say about four or five days

  9. half. they need to start slow.

  10. I would say five mornings or five afternoons. Mornings seem to work better at this age too.

  11. I would say that my experience with the full-time preschool kids, is that they tend to be socially ahead of the part-time children.  For some reason they do not seem to get sick as much. They learn social competance faster, but the downfall is that they are more tired... and sometimes have more behavioral issues, because they are not getting as much quality time with parents.  So maybe do part-time at this age, and when they are four, send them to a full-day program.

  12. they'll be knackered after just half a week but how about what is better for you? My nephew went half a week for the first year and then moved to 4 days, which at just 4 is about enough-

  13. I like the thought that was given to you in the first answer... what do you, as the parent, need?  If it is an option to go 2 days or 3 days a week...that's is what I suggest for toddlers.  Is this daycare or is this a preschool program?  2 seems awfully young for a preschool program...though I see preschool "tendencies" showing forth at about 2.5 years old.  Maybe you wish to wait until the fall after they turn 3 years old, if that is an option.  Good luck in your decision making.

  14. I'd start off  at five mornings or afternoon sessions if this is too much do less whatever suits you and your child best.
