What is better for health- poly rainwater tanks or galvanised?

in regards to things leaching from them into the water

are you using the tanks for garden or watering the grass?  are the tanks going above ground or under ground? how big are the tanks?  either way I would go the poly tank.  galvanized will rust in time.

definitely the poly of the two choices especially with the acid rain that could react with the galvanizing pretty quickly stainless would be ideal though

Try and afford Stainless Steel.  

Galvanized would be my choice. Especially after all the latest news on the stuff that is in plastic.  Could depend on if it is lined, and with what.
