  1. I've used the cone incense in the past..they last pretty long and give off good scent. However, the charcoal ( black ) are cheaper than the colored ( scented) cones - these cost a lot especially, online.

I am getting into two thngs this month:

    1. Scented Oil ...

    2. Scented Candle Making..( I know they last a long time "Votives")

So my experience is with candles & cones and both last long. Cones about an hour and candles about 4 hours for the votive candle.

Both give off good scent but candles it is weaker and must build - up over time, an hour later there is no mistake the scent is there. The cones about 5 minutes later it is there and very strong..so it is more direct.

  2. Since you want to fragrance your room, I strongly suggest something without a flame. That way you can leave it unattended.

    Most common products:

    1. Plug-ins : They go straight into an electrical outlet and they have an adjustable slide so you can choose how strong you want the fragrance to be. They will last up to 6 weeks.

    2. Reed diffusers : A bottle filled with scented oil, all you do is insert the reeds. They are really great because you can just put them anywhere and they're so easy and simple. The best way to get a strong fragrance is to flip the reeds every 3 weeks. The reeds will last for about 6 months.

Personally reeds work the best they are easy safe and last a long time!

BUT if you want to burn a candle here are some helpful tips

Keep your wick at 1/8in-1/4in. Yankee Candle sells Illumalids, which work amazing. They'll sit on top of your candle while it burns so it will eliminate all the soot and the wax build-up on the sides. Also Yankee recently came out with the Beans Wax soy candles in awesome fragrances (I have "End of the Line" it smells amazing!) They are also great because they are in a 100% recycled container!

  3. I prefer reed diffusers, personally. they are oil based, emit a lovely fragrance continuously and are "greener" than using plug-ins or incense.
