  1. Neither,

Raise your children to respect the environment. Teach them the outdoors and Leave No Trace camping. Alot of the "Green" ideas that are floating around cause as much or more environmental problems than they create. A good example of this is florescent light bulbs the waste they  create when they are discarded.

The one environmental issue that never seems to be raised is urban sprawl. Building a "green" house in an area that use to be wild is counter productive. Instead the builder of the house is praised for using "green' technology. Erosion from urban sprawl will kill off natural habitat faster than climate change.

  2. Let me shake you by the hand. Finally someone who sees that over population is the only REAL cause of the world's problems. Unfortunately Andrew, along with 99.99% of the rest of people do not see simple truths for what they are. They would rather hide behind ideals rather than reality. The reality IS Andrew that people have spouted about being responsible for millenia and we are more barbaric and irresponsible than ever before. The problem is NOW, not in the future. If we do not take responsibilty and stop churning out more useless humans NOW, there won't be a tomorrow.

The majority of society like playing games and one of the biggest is the 'I care' game, which is only because it garners respect from others of the same ilk. Unfortunately, nobody cares. If we really cared, in our hearts, in our minds, in our guts, then the world would be transformed instantly. Responsibility is always now and never tomorrow. PEOPLE are the cause of environmental problems. PEOPLE are the cause of violence. PEOPLE are the cause of hunger. PEOPLE are the cause of every so called problem out there. It does not take a genius to realise that more people = more problems. If you really did care, you would not play at planting trees or recycling or any of the other silly things uncaring people do. You would strike at the root of the problem, but you don't and you won't and so the world is the way it is.

  3. in the long run,

    not having kids

but i would stick to planting trees.

    children r a blessing.

    yes we r.

  4. I think its better to not have children at all because they're a stress factor and there are lot of responsibilities of taking care of a child. Kids are not a blessing or a gift.

Being childfree with give you more opportunities with less stress. I think if relationships end over wanting children, I think that's silly. A petty reason to break up.

  5. Children are (the most significant) PART of my environment.  I would not want to live in an environment that didn't include children.

  6. If you don't have kids, the government will back-fill the population shortfall (their tax base) with immigrants. People, breed your own Canadians, teach them good Canadian values, but do only have two of them. Overpopulation is a serious concern, we need to drop condoms on Africa, not food.

Planting trees does little, as the tree rots the fungus releases CO2 as a byproduct of digestion. The CO released is exactly the same as the amount the tree consumed as it grew! Check it out on Environment Cda's website.

  7. not having kids

  8. Not having kids is the best thing you can do.

I have none so, I spend that money on my plants.  I have one h**l of a lot of them.  My whole yard is like a garden.  I have cactus, ficus, and a palm tree in the front.  I have many vines and flowering plants in the back.  The hummingbirds, bees, and butter fies eat well at my house.  I drive my Jeep as little as possible, to cut down on emissions.  My girlfriend is the same.

  9. both planting trees can save a environment having a kids can help you when your old

  10. I don't think humanity should stop reproducing, but we can live more sustainably by adopting more renewable and ecologically viable practices. So I'm gona go with plant a tree, but not only that we should educate our children about environmental responsibility.

  11. There are actually some trees that produce more CO2 than they use, so that can be damaging.  And having children does not and never will inherently hurt the environment.  If you have that perspective, you'll become a mass murderer.  If you have children but simply teach them to be responsible, power to ya.
