  1. Depends. But probably steel. More stability and more accurate shots. You might lose a couple yards in distance but definitely worth it for the more accurate shots.  


  2. graphite will give you greater distance, steel more accuracy. hence most people use graphite shafted woods and steel shafted irons because accuracy is more important with the irons    

  3. Be more explicit with your question. Apparently you were referring to the shaft of the club being either steel or graphite. The younger, stronger players with high swing speeds will prefer steel shafted irons. Those of us in the senior category need all the help we can get and have gravitated toward the graphite shafts. The graphites are lighter, have great feel for the head of the club and suit the slower swing speed of seniors and women golfers.

  4. It does depend on personal preference. Most older golfers usually rely on graphite. Graphite has more flexibility. Steel is stiffer and if you have a really hard swing then steel is prob your best bet.  

  5. steel, grapihte is more of a little kid shaft, but....... if you swing really slow then graphite could be good for you
