What is better in your opinion Sony Vegas Pro 8 or Adobe After Effects?

well sony vegas let's you put clips together better, and is made for more longer versions of video's like amvs or music videos. And After effects has a lot of effects, and a lot of 3d actions you can't possible ever do in sony vegas. so it depends on what you want to do. i personally suggest sony vegas if you want to make something simple or long, and adobe after effects if you want to make cool effects to some home footage or something.

well it 100% depends on you and the project you are going to do. Sony Vegas is much better for beginners and doesn't need a lot of experience but After FX can be more efficient. if you want to create a home made video or a movie with very little special effects use Sony Vegas, using After FX to create a home made video is like go shopping with a Boeing 777. an air plane is much faster than a bicycle but sometimes a bicycle can run the work faster. After effect is a little to hard to work whit but i really love it because you can do anything whit it, anything you think about, but i steel use Sony Vegas to do 90% my works.

Its your core editing program, it gives you all your layers to work with easy-splitting and syncing capabilities.

After Effects accents sony, as making "Hollywood" style effects, that you should put into vegas to make your final project.
