  1. Again, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid the hype about either of the cars. The build quality is sub par and overall reliability ratings for previous models are "worse then average" to "average". Save your self some time, money, and self-respect and buy a different brand of car.

  2. Depends on what you mean by better...here are the specs...

    2009 Mazda3 (excluding Mazdaspeed3)

    2.0L I4 148HP starting at  $14,490

    2.3L I4 156HP starting at  $17,835

Both come in 5-speed manual or automatic

    2009 Mazda6

    2.5L I4 170HP starting at $18,550

    3.7L V6 272HP starting at $24,130

The Mazda6 is a bigger car as well, and with more features.  Both cars come with the same warranty.

So for starters, if you are looking for mpgs, the 3 is better, although smaller.  The 2.3L suffers a little mpgs though.

The Mazda6 2.5L is a practical mid-size car that looks nice, and gets decent mpg, although may be a tad slower than the Mazda3 2.3L because of weight.

If you are looking for speed go for the Mazda6 3.7L V6.  Extremely quick for a mid-sized car, and has plenty of room, but is a little slower than the Mazdaspeed3  (0-60 in 5.8 seconds compared to the Mazdaspeed3 0-60 in 5.6 seconds according to caranddriver.com).

  3. Mazda 6 Nothing to think about lol.

  4. hi,

well....3 or 6 i would personally go for the Mazda 3 especially the 2.0l sport model which is very good value for what you get, sport body styling kit inc. rear roof spoiler (hatchback) or rear lip spoiler (saloon)17" alloys, Bose premium sound system (which is excellent), cruise control, 6-in dash CD changer, auto climate control, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, traction control, dynamic stability control and leather interior (leather only standard in new 08 2.0l sport model and is optional in later years) all as standard . the two liter 4 cylinder in line engine along with the 6 speed manual transmission and sports suspension creates a really fun and comfortable drive.

as for the Mazda 6 the sport model is very similar to the 3 (in equipment) but quite a bit more money than the 3. the 6 slightly is larger so more practical for a large family but it is slower off the mark and slightly more difficult to handle. (i think). it may have a more sort of premier feel about it but i think the Mazda 3 better value and if you get the new 08 sport it also has a more premier feel.

    hope this helps mike

  5. The 3 in my opinion is a better vehicle. But like the first answerer said they are two diferent types of cars with different uses intended in the design. The 3 has an outstanding service record and is listed as a best buy in the Consumer Reports publication. The 6 however has had some issues in its reliability so I would be much more wary of purchasing that car. If thats the type car you are looking for you should probably look into an accord or maxima.

The 3 is a more compact more efficient and much more fun car to drive. The 6 is a medium sized sedan so it has more room but is less efficient and not as quick as the 3.

For the most recent answerer you aparently don't know what you are talking about. First of all Japanese cars cars have been known for a long time for the reliablity compared to the American made cars. Secondly you are completely unaware of where the car is made. The 3 is made in Hirashima Japan, hince the high quality and affordable cost. While the 6 is made somewhere in the US which again proves the US can not make an affordable high quality auto anymore. The majority of European cars have a good service track record however when they do break down they are many times double or triple the cost to repair compared to a Japanese or American made car. The parts are extremely expensive and they are more dificult to work on. Go to Europe and you will see about half and half Euorope built cars and Japanese cars.

I am a proud owner of a Mazda 3 and have had no problems out of it. I plan to ride this one till the wheels fall off then invest in another one. Good luck in your car buying... ZOOM ZOOM :)

  6. That's like comparing apples and oranges - they're cars for different needs.

The Mazda 3 is a compact car and the Mazda 6 a medium. Basically if you want a roomier car go for the Mazda 6 (which is also more expensive).

If you want specs, why not visit the Mazda website?

  7. neither one those are lousy japanese machines, you should buy an E46 M3.
