What is better???

Question

DVR or TiVo? I know DVR you can only record one movie while watching one. But is there any device that can record more than one movie while watching another???

Not that I am aware of...

If you can get your hands on a DVD Recorder with a large Harddrive, now your talking.  You get to record your programs for free, instead of paying the "MAN" on a monthly basis.

Yes with my TiVo I can record two shows at the same time while I watch another show. Because all the tuners in the TiVo are being used to record two shows the third show that I watch while recording the two others has to be from the list of shows that was already recorded.

I have had DVR's from the cable company (Time Warner), Satellite company (Dish) and Tivo. The Tivo recorder is by far the best one on the market.

With the cable company I got digital cable, and Internet modem through cable. I had no way to access the shows from my laptop. I could mange my recordings but that is it.

With TiVo I can do everything from my laptop. If I am away the TiVo records the show like normal. I can set up my laptop to get the shows downloaded into my computer automatically, then while I am away or traveling I can watch my recorded shows. I also can rent downloaded  movies from amazon.com. They download to my TiVo and then into my computer. I own the download at amazon.com and can watch it whenever I want. The TiVo found out that I like to watch shows that have a chef in them, next thing i know my TiVo is loaded with chef television shows. They are in a temp file so I automatically record and those show get deleted. I love the TiVo and recommend it to anybody looking into this or especially upgrading, because they already know what is going on and the TiVo has so much more to offer you don't know what you are missing.
