What is better surfer or skater? ?

well if you can skate down a huge hill without loosing balance surfing is perfect for you. but if you cant do that then skating is perfect. surfing has a less variety of tricks and then skating has millions of ways and varaitions

In the UK, definately skateboarding! Where are you gonna surf over here, eh? But skateboarding hands down all over the world. Reasons:

1. In surfing, you can only surf when there is a good swell, and there is shaks in mind (lol jk). Skateboarding can be done, wherever and whenever)

2. Skateboarding is so enjoyable, that there is actually a skateboarding day (21 June, google it if you don't believe me).

3. If its raining you can go to an indoor skatepark, so it doesn't matter what the weathers like.

4. Im a skateboarder and I'm telling you, there's so much more you can do on a skateboard than on a surfboard (so many skate tricks, different types of ramps, grind rails. and different types of skateboarding all together! eg street, hardcore, career, vert........

5. The world of skateboarding is GREAT! And there are so many people to admire (Rodney Mullen, Tony Hawk, Mike Vallely, Ryan Sheckler, Bam Margera.......etc........etc)

6. Skateboarding is a great way of exercising witout even knowing it cos you have so much fun.



7. There's more likely to be an awesome skatepark (or two)in your town/village, than an ocean with a good swell!!!!

I hope i made a point. mmwwwaahahahahahaha. JOIN ME IN SKATEBOARDING!!!!!!!!

I like skateboarding better(influenced by the fact that I live in the Midwest, and had little exposure to the world of surfing). I love the sound of the wheels rolling on concrete and slamming boards. I also feel that there are more variety of things that can be done on a skateboard as opposed to a surf board and its very enjoyable to watch.

If you're talking about the style(image/persona) of both sports, there are differences but a lot of people who surf most likely skate as well, so more probable than not, the styles are intertwined. Which do I like better? I'm quiet indifferent on such matter.

in my opinion; it depends on what you find most impressive.  Skating has 1,000,000 times more variety in tricks and places to skate( quote from Lords of Dogtown: "there's a lot more concrete on earth than waves") But surfing requires a lot more balance and coordination because surfing for the most part is carving and sharp turns, so I guess it depends on what you're more passionate for.

i have been both of them and they are all different, and now i love snowboarding, i have more of a natural ability for snowboarding than surfing or skating but yeah they're only similar because they have boards as the main piece of equipment.
