  1. Unless you are watching from less than 6ft away, you will not see the difference.  In order to see the difference offered by 1080p, your viewing distance should be no more than (diagonal size * 2).

  2. I include the link to newegg which I hope works out for you, it basically lists 1080p HDTVs at prices starting at $899.99 for a Sharp Aquos 32 inch.

In order to really answer this question you need to understand where you will be getting your broadcasts from. If you expect to get most of your broadcasts in 720p or in 1080i, and you do not think this will change for a while, save a few bucks and get a 720p. You'll get a bigger screen size and you'll enjoy your media at the highest resolution your media can give you. win - win.

Now... If you are expecting to have media in 1080p resolution, because you have a HD-DVD player (my condolences) or a Blu-Ray player, or a PS3 where some games are in 1080p and you want to enjoy these to their fullest. It really makes no sense to skimp out on getting the real deal now since you'll only end up replacing it.

With the format-war over, Blu-Ray will pick up steam in their movie library. That is something to consider if you are to upgrade.

Again all of this will happen within the next year or two. But most importantly, understand that when it comes to high-definition prices are going to come down. Next year 1080p prices will be lower, and bigger sets with more features will be priced where the current sets are. Much like with computers, feel something that will satisfy you for the next few months, but understand that nothing is "future proof" at this moment.

    Good luck with your purchase!

  3. skip the 720 .

  4. 1080p is best and Vizio is a cheap brand.

  5. There will be NO visible difference between 720p and 1080p on a set that small.  You need AT LEAST 40" to appreciate the 1080p quality.  Also, others above are correct that unless you have PS3 or Blu-Ray there is no benefit because nothing is broadcast in 1080- nor will it be any time soon, if ever.

Save the $$$ and go for the 720p

  6. 1080p obviously is better, but probably not worth more than 500 bucks

  7. a 1080p is definetly higher quality, but it is probably higher in price too.
