  1. Dry wall screws but go slowly and carefully and figure out how you're going to cover the holes.  Be very aware that the sheetrock will not not want to bend very much and it may take a great deal of patience and work to get the job done.  Go slowly or the screws will go right through the drywall.

  2. I only use screws for drywall, regardless of where it is.  I have spent too many hours fixing raised nails in other peoples work.

  3. professionals do not use nail guns for drywall it is screwed in place using s***w guns.

    most codes require screws.

    use screws

  4. i hung a lot of drywall many years ago and always used nails and glue. screws were not very common then. now i would not use anything but screws. they are superior in every way.

  5. Professionals use a nail gun first to put each sheet in place, then fasten the sheets with drywall screws.

  6. I could cut and paste MMT's comment or simply refer you to them.

I don't drive enough nail any more to warrant having an extra hammer.  I use screws in almost everything I do.  Siding, fencing, drywall and so on and so forth.  I have even used some in framing.

  7. screws or better to use then nails. Nails tend to pull out over time.
