I am planning a surprise party for my soon-to-be 6 year old daughter. I would like to know as a guest to a birthday party which of the following would you prefer to have for lunch: 1.) Pizza 2.)Burgers, Hotdogs and mac and cheese, potato salad ect. or 3.)sub sandwiches, chips with all the toppings? The party will be at 1:30 in the afternoon, and I have about 25 guests attending, it's a casual Hannah Montanna party at my home.

  1. everything

  2. #2 is great need variety at a party because  not all people like pizza or subs

  3. Pizza would be what I'd serve them! Kids love it!!

  4. The kids may prefer pizza as a first choice. If you can, let them make their own - you supply the toppings and then bake them. The hot dogs and burgers are good as well. Supply the cheese, pickles, bacon etc. and let them create. Add some chips, make and cheese and maybe a few cut veggies as a side. Good Luck.

  5. I personally like Pizza the best, but not everyone likes Pizza, not even all kids, let alone all parents, so I recommend going with the burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, etc., and most everyone should be satisfied.

  6. go with burgurs.. rather than potato salad (ussually gets wasted beacuase not many people actually like it) i would reccomend baked beans and some fruilt.

  7. My daughter usually gets a bunch of pizzas for my grandkids' parties (3 of them under 4-1/2)....cheese for the kids; and toppings for the adults.  She has a veggie/dip platter and a fruit platter.......

  8. pizza would probably be easy. but hotdogs and hamburgers are always good to

  9. well i dont like pizza or meat.

    i would have pasta salad

  10. If your kid’s social calendar of birthday parties is anything like that of my two boys, you probably loathe the idea that they will be stuffing themselves with too many pizzas and sweet treats – sometimes two or three times a weekend. When it’s your child’s day to shine, you might want to consider throwing another type of party: one that serves up heart-healthy foods while taking the focus off the sugary cakes, cookies and candies.

Here are some tips to making your child’s next birthday party a heart-healthier one.

Focus on the fun Kids love games and arts-and-crafts, which are great ways to divert their attention from the food.

Opt for a menu change Mini bagels with tuna or low-fat, lower-sodium deli meats such as turkey, chicken or ham are a great alternative. Or make tacos with cooked lean ground beef or shredded cooked chicken, diced tomatoes and cucumbers and let the kids assemble them.

Make old favourites healthier If serving pizza, choose a vegetable or fruit (such as pineapple) topping over the double cheese and pepperoni. Serve chicken, turkey or veggie hot dogs instead of beef.

Serve up the veggies You will be amazed at how many kids will go for sliced veggies with dip in addition to whatever else they are eating. I always serve a platter of cucumber slices, baby carrots, grape tomatoes and pepper rings for kids to snack on during the party instead of candies and chips. You can also make it fun by creating a salad bar that kids can pick and choose from.

Treat with fruit Fresh fruit can be a refreshing dessert at the end of an eventful party. Strawberries and melons taste delicious on their own or when dipped in low-fat vanilla yogurt.

Create a sundae bar Give each child a small cup with a scoop of frozen yogurt. Have fun toppings for them to choose from to create a delicious sundae. Fill small bowls with fresh berries, dark chocolate chips, granola and graham cookies.

Have healthy beverages available Quench kids thirst with water, milk (even chocolate milk) and 100% fruit juice instead of soda pop, punches and other sugary drinks.

  11. definitely pizza hands down its the best

  13. Kids love BBQ... hamburgers... hotdogs... sausage...corn

    a colorful fruit salad....

and of course, the birthday cake and ice cream!
