  1. dvds are better, you have to rewind tapes after use, but dvds give you interactive stuff, the quality is better and you can watch them on pcs and playstations etc, but true they do skip after a while

  2. I'm not even sure why you're asking this...there's no comparing the two. DVD has much SUPERIOR video and audio quality. VHS has poor quality in both, not to mention how bulky they are. I'm surprised some people still even own a VHS player or movie collection, being that there's now even a newer format than DVD, Blu-Ray.

  3. Is this supposed to be a serious question?

A properly maintained DVD, and DVD player won't skip.

A DVD should last upwards of 100 years, whereas even the most gentlest care of a VHS tape will show image degradation after just a few years.  After 20 years, even the most pristine tape is going to show severe degradation - assuming it'll even play at all.  VHS decks also require a lot more maintenance or they will break down, and possible destroy your tape in the process.

DVDs hold more than a VHS tape, and don't have the degradation problem of being recorded at slower speeds like VHS.

DVDs allow for multiple languages and subtitles.  VHS does not.

DVDs allow for instant random access.  VHS does not.

DVD is higher resolution than VHS.

DVD is more ubiquitous than VHS ever was, with players in almost every computer in the world, not to mention players in the house, portable players, and players embedded into cars and airplanes.

How you could consider VHS to have any advantages over DVD is way beyond me.

  4. ummmm....DVD are 1000% better...better picture and way better audio
