What is beyond humans evolution?

Only 2 percent of the human genetic code is necessary for survival.... The rest is considered useless, its purpose yet to be discovered

  1. Not sure you have that percentage correct.  But anyway I am sure there is a reason for the so called "useless" DNA.  We just have not found out why yet.  


  2. There's a lot of 'junk' dna, it's true.

    Maybe its survival value is that it absorbs random damage that might

    otherwise effect the parts we need.

    As to what's beyond evolution?

    With the developement of genetic engineering we're about to find out.

    The next 200 Years are gonna be 'interesting times'.

The "junk" has a number of functions.  While there are true junk sequences (e.g. inactivated genes), there are a variety of uses for the intervening DNA.  If nothing else, spacing genes apart may allow more access by enzymes.  Some areas may act to hold the non-replicating strand out of the way.
