  1. A mix of both corn/grains and fossil fuels (oil).  This will not drink up the oil supply as much.

  2. biodiesel is oil produced from soy beans thus the term soydiesel and is used to fuel diesel engines in trucks and farm tractors here in south dakota, And ethonal is produced from corn, the alcohol is mixed with gasoline to produce ethonol,, the alcohol can be drank when produced , but they mix gas with it

  3. Something to use as a fuel instead of gasoline/diesel that can be grown naturally.

    This includes ethanol from corn/sunflowers.

The problem with it is that it increases the price of corn, and then poor countries cannot afford it. Also, it takes up farmland space.

  4. Biodiesel is natural oil. It is ussually derived from soybeans, sunflowers or corn. It can also be recycled from used cooking oil. It is renewable and cleaner than oil-based diesel. In fact, the very first diesel engines were designed to burn on peanut oil!

  5. This is the definition of bio diesel according to www.Biodiesel.org

    What is bio diesel?

Bio diesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources. Bio diesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a bio diesel blend. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines with little or no modifications. Bio diesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.

    How is bio diesel made?

Bio diesel is made through a chemical process called transmogrification whereby the glycerin is separated from the fat or vegetable oil. The process leaves behind two products -- methyl esters (the chemical name for bio diesel) and glycerin (a valuable byproduct usually sold to be used in soaps and other products).

Is Bio diesel the same thing as raw vegetable oil?

No! Fuel-grade bio diesel must be produced to strict industry specifications (AS TM D6751) in order to insure proper performance. Bio diesel is the only alternative fuel to have fully completed the health effects testing requirements of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. Bio diesel that meets AS TM D6751 and is legally registered with the Environmental Protection Agency is a legal motor fuel for sale and distribution. Raw vegetable oil cannot meet bio diesel fuel specifications, it is not registered with the EPA, and it is not a legal motor fuel.

For entities seeking to adopt a definition of bio diesel for purposes such as federal or state statute, state or national divisions of weights and measures, or for any other purpose, the official definition consistent with other federal and state laws and Original Equipment Manufacturer (EM) guidelines is as follows:

Bio diesel is defined as mono-alkali esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats which conform to AS TM D6751 specifications for use in diesel engines. Bio diesel refers to the pure fuel before blending with diesel fuel. Bio diesel blends are denoted as, "BX" with "XX" representing the percentage of bio dIEsel contained in the blend (ie: B20 is 20% bdiesel, 80% petroleum diesel).

  6. Oils from foods and grains used to fuel vehicles, in this case, it is trucks and large vehicles. Biofuels are supposedly is less harmful to the environment. It also increases the food prices at grocery shelves.

  7. Biodesel is a fuel for diesel motors. The oil comes from plants. Fossil fuel is just aged plant oil.

  8. Biodiesel is easy to make using waste vegetable oils. However the lye,and methonal can be dangerous. For me and my IDI diesel, converting the engine is cheaper and safer. That way I run wvo without having chemicals.
