Are you perhaps speaking of "a brain shock" which is sometimes used as a euphemism for a stroke?  If you are, a stroke can be permanently disabling or even fatal.  So yes, it's extremely serious.  If there is perhaps an English as a Second Language issue going on here, and you meant "brain stem", a brain stem is the transitional organ from the spinal cord to the brain itself and is part of the most ancient parts of the brain that developed as vertebrates evolved.  Sorry, but I've never heard of a brain stock before, and I'm hoping like h**l it's not some soup or stock base made from brains...
