  1. Bubble and Squeak: In the 18th century this was a dish of fried meat and cabbage. Nowadays it is more often fried potatoes and other vegetables.

Spotted d**k is a traditional English steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants), commonly served with either custard or butter and brown sugar.

  2. Spotted d**k is a traditional English steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants), commonly served with either custard or butter and brown sugar. Spotted refers to the dried fruit (which resemble spots) and d**k may be a contraction/corruption of the word pudding (from the last syllable) or possibly a corruption of the word dough.[1] It is possibly conjugated originally from sticky pudding to dicky pudding to dicky to d**k and finally spotted d**k as in pudding with raisins

Bubble and squeak (sometimes just called bubble) is a traditional English dish made with the shallow-fried leftover vegetables from a roast dinner. The chief ingredients are potato and cabbage, but carrots, peas, brussels sprouts, and other vegetables can be added. It is traditionally served with cold meat from the Sunday roast, and pickles. Traditionally the meat was added to the bubble and squeak itself, although nowadays the vegetarian version is more common. The cold chopped vegetables (and cold chopped meat if used) are fried in a pan together with mashed potato until the mixture is well-cooked and brown on the sides.
